Honey-Glazed Quince with Nutty Heart
A delightful blend of sweet and tart, these honey-glazed quinces are filled with a nutty, fruity heart. Perfect as a dessert or a healthy snack.
Ingredients:
- 4 quinces
- 70g Greek walnuts
- 30g almonds
- 100g dried cranberries or raisins
- 3 tablespoons honey (+ extra for drizzling)
- Zest of 1 quince
- 5 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 40g butter
- 1-2 dried apricots
Instructions:
- Core quinces and place in a bowl of water with 3 tablespoons lemon juice to prevent browning.
- Roughly chop walnuts and almonds.
- In a bowl, combine nuts, cinnamon, dried fruit, quince zest, juice of half a lemon, and melted butter.
- Stuff quinces with nut mixture and place in a baking dish. Cover with foil.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 40 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
- Serve with dried apricots and a drizzle of honey.
- Feel free to experiment with different dried fruits and nuts.
